Neptune: Union with All there Is

Neptune is one of our outer planets and the outer planets can be seen as heralds of change.
They break us down, or dissolve us to a certain extent, so that we can break through to a new way of being. As you may know, Neptune has been in the sign of Pisces since 2011, which it rules. That means that it has a special affinity with Pisces the last sign of the zodiac. The final sign signals completions of a cycle, while one of its main characteristics is pure cosmic consciousness experienced on a deep feeling level.

In 2025 Neptune will move into the first sign of the zodiac, Aries which will totally change its nature and effect on our lives.
Neptune de-emphasizes logic but thrives on imagination, the arts and intuition. It develops more Soul or God awareness and is less interested in purely egoic interests. It has been termed the planet of consciousness itself.

In the picture it is represented as that “which lies beyond” the senses. It is a kind of divine longing or a pure transcendent state of being where we experience a more all-embracing sense of self and connectiveness, here on a feeling level.
The couple are in harmony and bliss and absorbed in each other and the vibrant colours echo this sense of otherworldly aliveness.
The composition is simple, spacious and direct and the blue blanket that covers them, could point to the deep unconscious which unites them into what seems like a higher octave of harmony and bliss. They have moved beyond the usual boundaries to a more universal and cosmic experience. It is a deep internal state of beingness, transcendence and even innocence. The primary colours express an otherworldly reality, beyond space and time. It is a portal to an inner imaginative or inspirational state and experience.

Since 2011 all the world has been able to scroll down their phones and peruse visual data as never before. This is one of the gifts of Neptune in Pisces. One side effect is the addiction to such information and stimulus, a kind of non-stop visual absorption. And addictions of all kind are a hallmark of Neptune in its more negative guise.

In this work it is the positive experience of our connectivity to all there is, the underlying unity of all life that is portrayed. If we can quieten down as we do in Nature, Art, creativity or meditation such experiences await us; a direct glimpse of the beyond and a sense of timelessness. Call it the “Grace beyond the Gritt.”
