The White Jasper Stone
R13500,00
The Jasper stone which constitutes the Throne of God as described in the Apocalypse of St. John, forms the central point of the heavenly sphere. Red and white beams issue from it. This is the origin of the polarity of red and white as symbolized in English history (The War of Roses) and European fairy tales (e.g., Rose-red and Snow White).
The Spiritual aspect is captured in the purity of white light; the Soul element glows through the colour red. (This symbolizes the nervous system and blood stream in the human body). The throne does not have a human figure of God but these two colours radiate from it representing the Divine presence. Having already completed a red rose I decided to capture the brilliant white light of the Jaspar stone in this way, lifting the pure white out of the intense heavenly blue background and bringing in the green hue as well, which is part of the overall effect of the Jaspar stone.
This piece is provided in a light coloured wooden frame with museum glass.
It is meant to be simple yet striking and works well if hung above a shaded lamp (as is the case in my living room), which enhances its radiance effect at night.
