The Freedom Statue: Expectancy

The statue, which originates in a small sketch for a future wooden statue, remains very much an idea in the mind of the (invisible) person, who is implied as standing in front of the window in this work.

There is an expectation here and it looks like the expected “visitor” is arriving and approaching the gate. The statue exudes freedom and beauty as she stands on a brightly, multi-coloured table cloth, as if grounded in strong and vibrant emotions. The horse symbolizes the heart as people who work with horses will confirm.
