The Treshold with Mars and Venus
R10000,00
This is an early work where two people are shifting into a more intimate relationship and have to go through an inner threshold as denoted by the “infinitude” behind them and the barrier like structure they sit on, still wrapped up in their own realities. The cypress trees symbolize something of an (ego) death and the Mars (oak-leaves) and Venus-cat are united in the flower-pot (seeds) and the Golden band (ring) around it. They are still removed from that (promising) future but poised to move through that separation to a greater sense of unity.
The drawing has a stillness and expectancy in its large and simple sense of spaciousness and timelessness pointing to an inner realm and focus.
